On November 1, 2008, the shareholders of The Japan Fund approved the strategic alliance with Nomura Asset Management U.S.A Inc. to become the investment advisor of the Fund's assets.
In addition to benefiting from one of the largest and strongest asset management teams in the world, The Japan Fund will continue to benefit from the experience and expertise of its independent Board of Directors.
As sub-advisor for the Fund, Nomura Asset Management Co., Ltd. will implement a "multi-advisor" approach and consistent investment methodology. In addition, the Fund is the cornerstone of the Nomura Partners Funds, which offer a broad range of Asian and global mutual funds from leading Asian and global investment advisors.
